Sunday Morning Free Writing Thougts On Yeezus.
It’s official! We finally get some real & honest music in the world.
Aren’t you guys tired of those one hit wonder strip club “turn up” songs that all sound like French Montana or Wale made them? They sound the same to me young. Or Rick Ross with the same song sounding like “Blowing Money Fast”. That shit gets old quick too. Even Jay-Z, we know you have money bro, and I’m a huge fan but you’re gonna have to use your cultural influence to talk about more topics of substance than money on every track.
My man Cudi called Ye “Yeezus” back in 2011, during Paris Fashion Week via Twitter that’s where the name came from. Kind of cool to see Ye dig that out from the archive to use it as his album title. Cudi also was responsible for writing a large percentage of 808s & Heartbreaks. Kanye’s most innovative project. So it’s good to see Kanye continue to be inspired by Cudi. My two favorite artist with Cudi being number one, and Ye second making it happen! These are the only two artist that’s willing to define their art, be human, and make music for real people. With no desire to be “celebrity”. Other artist go right in the studio and lie about things they don’t have and a life they don’t live.
The two most recent tracks I’ve heard Kanye is speaking some real shit, life shit. It’s like College Dropout on much better production. Where would sports have been back in the day if Muhammad Ali didn’t speak up on social and cultural issues like Ye does.
What’s so wrong about the album title name “Yeezus”? You “Weekend Mega Church Worshipers” need to chill. I believe in God too, but Christianity isn’t the only religion in the world. My homie Photoleer says it best “people always want to use God or Jesus to blame something on or defend something when it’s convenient for them to try to prove a point” which is unfair to the religion. So they call this man self-centered or egotistical. Whatever. Some of you don’t know what it’s like to have to defend and protect your passion, dreams and visions your entire life from doubters and naysayers. The blood sweat, tears, and sacrifice that goes into doing what’s against the norm, so it’s easy for you to throw stones or shade from the bleachers. You’ve never enter the game to begin with.
There is Michael Jackson, and then there’s Kanye West. GREATEST ARTISTS OF ALL TIME!
June 18th. Yeezus.
